[NEW LAUNCH] Google Shopping Campaigns

| ‎22-10-2013 02:07 PM

Hi Community,

Today we announced a new campaign type for Product Listing Ads — Shopping Campaigns.

Here's a video introduction for you...

There are three key benefits with Shopping campaigns:

(1) Retail-centric way to manage your products

(2) Advanced reporting to measure product performance

(3) Competitive data to size your opportunity

Check out this blogpost for more details on those three benefits and all the new features available with this launch. And if you have questions as shopping campaigns rolling out globally over the next few months, just post a thread in the Community!

I just set up my first shopping campaign and am very excited by all the new features and functionality! The ability to quickly and easily see which products are getting clicks / conversions is very valuable. A couple suggestions I would offer. Since we can now see click / conversion data on individual products it would be nice to be able to bulk adjust bids on individual items. As far as I can see there is no way to currently do this. Also I do not see a way to see keywords in detail. It is critical to see keyword details so that I can exclude keywords and optimize my campaign.

I agree with TMSIt - seeing keywords that are triggering the ads is crucial.

Also, setting negative keywords individual product groups.

I know I still need to do a lot of research on setting up how I want my products to be grouped in this new campaign type. I hope I am doing it right!

Hi

You can easily see keyword details by looking at the dimensions tab and filtering to search terms.

The shopping campaigns are lacking some serious functionality.

- Ability to add keywords as negatives from a search term report
- bulk editing bids etc at product group level
- Ability to sort by data columns when viewing data
- Quick filters when building your shopping campaigns to easily select groups of your product data.

The one really annoying thing is for those who have modifed their product feeds dramatically to fit the existing PLA campaign structures, it seems as though we now have to modify them again to fit teh shopping campaigns

These are my first thoughts and experiences - overall though i like the look and feel more than the existing PLA campaigns

Nigel

Thanks, Nigel C! I keep forgetting about that option for checking keywords.

I also agree with the functionality you suggested. I can understand why some of those things don't exist though, such as the sorting data by columns, just due to how the hierarchy of product groups is laid out.

I would like to see a little cleaner hierarchy layout, personally. I don't know if the names of my product groups are too long, but it can be a bit difficult to tell what hierarchy level I am on when I am taking a quick look.

Lots of improvements, lots of things that still need to be done.

Nigel C - I am new to shopping campaigns and cannot find this option under the filters on the dimension tab. Can you please help me find it? Thank you.
