Nice find Moshe,

There are some great new features coming with this campaign type update.

AdGroup level sitelinks

Set mobile specific ads (in a multi device campaign)

New bidding options for location and device

and more

There is a great article about these changes that wordstream did yesterday.

Very extensive article form Wordstream, a must read.

I guess is this will increase CPC on mobiles a lot, which has so far been cheap in comparison with destop.

I do - as is also expresssed in that article - have som worries for all those smaller advertisers which have set up their own campaigns, or got helped by a consultant, and did bother to split desktop/mobile campaigns but don´t have the knowledge and time to change this (many of them will never even hear of this update).
As stated in the Wordstream article:

advertisers who had previously separated mobile/desktop campaigns (again, this was considered the best practice) will now end up having two campaigns targeting similar keywords with different ad experiences that target both mobile and desktop

Hi all,

(my first but not last in adwords community)

I am curious to know if there can be migration from a single campaign...

Reading thought the materials it looks easier just to delete the mobile one and to edit the desktop one.

In most cases all mobile campaigns are not at all identical to the desktop...

Any comments on this idea? :smileyhappy:

Hello Ivellina; welcome;

Here you are; a full migration guide (The resources center is fully updated - this was probably a huge effort by Google...)

Thank you Moshe, i have already read the full guide.

Yet, it looks much easier to update only the primary campaign and to manually include what is missing than to compare two (or even more) campaigns and to upgrade...

I am looking forward the webinars hoping they will put some light to the big picture :smileyhappy:

Well, as (apparently) the first, or among the first to have coined the term "ad group sitelinks", I must say I'm chuffed to bits to see it becoming a reality.

That, and the advanced reporting features make me very happy with this change.

I am less concerned about the mobile/desktop related change, because one will still be able to opt out of mobile campaigns on one hand, and on the other hand it will also be possible, to some extent, to have a "mobile-weighted" campaign by bidding less for desktop and more for mobile, and also throwing in some location / time of day / day of week modifiers.

Hello all,

I've just upgraded one campaign to enchanced. The problem is that the option to edit the device targeting settings has just disappeared! I tried to edit the device targeting settings through the AdWords Editor but my changes (I want to deselect mobiles) are not being accepted. I have tried different browsers also. Is that a bug or am I missing something here? I've contacted support and while waiting for an answer I though of posting this issue here too because the advertiser does not want to run on mobiles. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi Sakis, there's no "checkbox" anymore to deselect mobile devices.  What you have to do is make a change to the mobile device bidding to set it to -100% (that's minus).  This effectively turns off the mobile bidding.
