AdWords Communities Global Summit 2012: Celebrating our AdWords Heroes

by Community Manager Zee Community Manager ‎13-09-2012 02:04 PM - edited ‎17-09-2012 10:54 AM (4,793 Views)

Spread your knowledge. Share best practices. Learn. Teach. Help. These are only a few keywords that describe what happens in our online communities, day after day. Because the Community would not exist without its Users, we would like to engage, recognize, and celebrate the AdWords heroes who’ve made this happen. And most of all, we want to thank them in person!

Therefore, after the great success of last year’s Top Contributor Summit, we’re delighted to announce that the AdWords Communities Global Summit will take place October 16-17, 2012 at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California. This 2-day event will bring together over 60 of the most prolific and knowledgeable contributors from our new AdWords Communities. By continually providing excellent help to the advertisers, these AdWords experts are true heroes in our book.

We are especially delighted that the following AdWords experts from the English Community will join us at the Summit:

The agenda is jam-packed with eye-opening sessions and workshops, interspersed with some fun social and team building activities. From Google’s side, we’ll have some business and product leaders joining us, as well as engineers and developers of AdWords. We’re also honored to have external speakers who are leaders in their field.

The second day will be fully devoted to the topic of online communities. Together with our participants, we want to brainstorm and envision what the future of social support for AdWords could look like.

We’ll be streaming some of the sessions live. So stay tuned, book October 16-17 in your calendar, and visit the AdWords Community for more updates on the AdWords Communities Global Summit 2012!

You are talking about 60 contributors and showing us 16 invitees ? What are/were the selection criteria and when and how will contributors recieve an invite ?

by Level 10 marketsharer on ‎14-09-2012 03:57 PM

And why is it limmited to the English Forum when its called a Golbal meeting ?

Taking care of the Adwords Forum in your own country can be time consuming enough  ?

Still curious !

Heard it is depending on the platform the AdWords forum is hosted ?  That can't be true !

by Level 10 marketsharer on ‎19-09-2012 03:34 AM

Got confirmd the selection was based on the platform. So if you are an active AdWords TC in a country that has its AdWords Forum not on Lithium, then you were not even in the group they selected from ! That sounds ridiculous, doesn't it ?

Wow! Congratulations to all the chosen ones! Looking forward to have South East Asia Summit someday!

Hi marketsharer,

Thank you for your feedback. As we mentioned in our previous email communication to you, our selection was based on certain criteria including overall activity, number of articles, participation in initiatives, tenure and others. The process was thorough, but obviously left a number of great people out and we are really sorry about this. The focus of this summit is on the 7 new AdWords Communities (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russsian). We plan to host several technical sessions that may not be applicable to the users of other language forums. But rest assured, there will be more opportunities in the future to participate in such events.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,

Mini on behalf of the AdWords Community team
